In-stream ads is a feature run on Facebook for monetization, through which video content creators make money by placing in-between short ads within their videos. Here is how it works.
What Are In-Stream Ads?
In-Stream Ads are basically short ads that run before, during, or after a video on Facebook. Such commercial in-stream ads can be used for a wide range of the video content and are more or less similar to those you commonly see on a television screen.
Eligibility Criteria:
The following criteria must be met to start earning with In-Stream Ads :
1. Follower Count: On average, a page needs to have at least 5,000 followers.
2. Video Length: Videos should be 1 minute in length at the minimum. However, mid-roll ads favor videos longer than 3 minutes.
3. Minutes Viewed: Total of 60,000 minutes viewed across any combination of video uploads, either live or on-demand, in the past 60 days.
4. Country and Language: The option must be available in the country the creator resides in, and their content has to be in a supported language. and now 98% of African countries can monetize their pages
Payment
You have to earn a payment threshold (usually $100) to become eligible to receive your funds. Payouts:- By default, payments from In-Stream Ads are generated monthly. Creators can handle their payouts directly in Facebook's Creator Studio, where one can also find information on tracking their earnings.
Ad Placement:
- Publishers can select manual ad breaks and choose where the ads will be placed or publish their content and let Facebook's automated system select ad placement based on different natural breaks or content transitions.
Content Guidelines:
Videos should follow Facebook's brand safety, so the content policies should steer clear of sensitive or controversial issues that most advertisers would not want to be associated with.
• **Engagement**: Videos should invite organic engagement since, from the Facebook algorithm's perspective, it will always be more inclined to show people the content they engage with and watch to the end of the video.
